“It really is too bad that all governments are corrupt and kill lots of innocent people,” she said as she off-handedly looked up from her needlepoint (she was making a black chick of sorts, cartoonish, to be used as an appliqué on her girlfriend’s bikini)…she then turned back to her needlepoint as the conversation continued on about genocide and conspiracy theories…we were trying to figure out if Steve was a pathological liar, the random beach bum supposedly surfer boy (but no one had ever seen him surf) who claimed to have worked for the government as an engineer and witnessed blueprints for massive nuclear weapons (yes, more, and by the way did you ever think about how our entire military system is based upon offensive attack and not defensive?), and meanwhile, his father (also a government contractor) is busy building “holding areas” for those people that disobey the patriot act.
